"…written by three internationally recognized experts who bring together the essential features of both reactive and neoplastic lesions of lymph nodes…The chapters are well proportioned with succinct, lucid and reader-friendly text. The lesions are generously illustrated and all the photographs (H&E, immunostains and electron micrographs) are of superb quality." Histopathology, from a review of the first edition. Thoroughly updated and revised in line with the latest World Health Organization classification system, the second edition of Diagnostic Lymph Node Pathology continues to be an essential guide to the interpretation of lymph node biopsies for all professional and trainee general pathologists and haematopathologists alike. Presented in full colour with numerous illustrations of exceptional quality, the new edition covers both classical and less well known features of individual disease processes together with the differential diagnoses of lymph node biopsy specimens. B-cell lymphomas have been reorganized in line with WHO guidelines whereas topics such as Epstein-Barr virus, age-related lymphomas and prognostic indicators have been expanded and new cases using needle core biopsies are presented.

Milady`s Guide to Lymph Drainage Massage (Paperback)

Milady`s Guide to Lymph Drainage Massage (Paperback)

$38.25

Lymph drainage massage is a technique utilized by massage therapists to provide relief from edema, an accumulation of fluids in the tissues that causes swelling. This book provides a scientifically-accurate explanation of the lymphatic system, the theory behind lymph drainage massage, and explains when it should be performed. Also provided is an explanation of the application of lymph drainage massage to the needs of well clients, rather than focusing on pathology, since most massage therapists and estheticians will not be treating lymph edema disease in their work. The book offers step-by-step procedures for facial and upper and lower body massage, giving you practical information that can be applied immediately. With an aging baby boomer generation and the population at large increasingly focused on well-being, technicians – whether beginners or those looking to review and broaden their skills – are increasingly interested in learning about lymph drainage massage and how it can enhance their clients` experience as well as their own careers. Milady`s Guide to Lymph Drainage Massage can play a vital role in accomplishing all of these goals.

A Guide for Delineation of Lymph Nodal Clinical Target Volume in Radiation Therapy

A Guide for Delineation of Lymph Nodal Clinical Target Volume in Radiation Therapy

$99

Conformal radiotherapy offers the opportunity to enhance precise delivery of high dose radiation to the target volume while maintaining normal tissues doses at acceptable tolerance levels. This technique requires an exact definition of the treatment volumes: gross tumour volume (GTV), clinical target volume (CTV) and planning target volume (PTV). For this reason, it is important to have a very good knowledge of radiological anatomy and natural history of the disease. In particular, CTV is a tissue volume that contains the macroscopic disease with the surrounding areas suspected of subclinical involvement (CTV) and regional lymph nodes (CTV2). Delivery of adequate doses of irradiation to lymph nodes at risk, enhances treatment outcome and selective irradiation of them decreases morbitidy and yields better quality of life. To facilitate the understanding of cross-sectional anatomy detail and to assist Radiation Oncologists on the difficult task of a detailed delineation of lymph node targets in multiple anatomical locations, the editors compiled this work. The book opens with a brief overview of the anatomy of the lymphatic system, followed by the main anatomical classifications involving lymph drain in four main regions (head and neck, mediastinum, superior abdomen, pelvis) and describes the spreading patterns of the different cancers. Based on close collaboration between Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists, explicit instructions for lymph nodal clinical target volumes delineation are proposed to obtain a more accurate and consistent definition of these volumes of interest; axial topographic reference points for anatomical boundaries of regional lymph nodes are presentedin illustrative tables. A folding page, containing of one side the anatomical-radiological tables and on the other the CT axial images, will facilitate the reading of CT images reported in the book from the head and neck region to the pelvic one. The ediors hope that this book will be a valuable aid in accurate image based radiation therapy treatment planning for young as well as for more experienced Radiation Oncologists.
